Notary Services at All Six Offices
Commissioned Pennsylvania notaries on staff. Included at no extra charge with your vehicle paperwork, and available for other documents too.
Every Commonwealth Auto Tags office has commissioned Pennsylvania notaries on staff. If you are here for a title transfer or other vehicle paperwork, notarization is included at no extra charge. You can also walk in with other documents that need a notary seal. You do not need an appointment at any of our six offices.
What You Need to Bring
- Valid government-issued photo ID (PA driver's license, state ID, or passport)
- The document, unsigned. The notary must watch you sign it.
- All required signers, each with their own photo ID
Signing before you arrive is the most common mistake. A notary cannot seal a signature they did not witness.
Step-by-Step Process
Walk In With Your Document
Bring the unsigned document and your photo ID to any of our six offices during business hours. If your document is not vehicle paperwork, call ahead and we will confirm we can notarize it.
Sign in Front of the Notary
Our notary checks your ID, then watches you sign. If the document has multiple signers, each one signs in person with ID.
Leave With a Sealed Document
The notary completes the certificate, signs, and applies the seal. Most documents take a few minutes.

Notary Work We Handle Every Day
Vehicle paperwork is our specialty, and much of it requires a notary. Title assignments, powers of attorney for vehicle transactions, and lien releases cross our counters all day. Our staff notarizes these documents as part of processing them, so you never make a separate trip to find a notary.
We also notarize documents that have nothing to do with your car. Call the office you plan to visit and tell us what you have. We can tell you in one phone call whether we can seal it and what to bring.
Why a Tag Agency Has Notaries
Pennsylvania builds notarization into vehicle ownership. Title transfers often require notarized signatures, which is why PennDOT authorized agents like us keep commissioned notaries on staff. Rather than hunting for a notary and paying separate fees, you get the notarization included when we handle your vehicle transaction.
What Pennsylvania Requires From You
A notary confirms two things: who you are and that you signed willingly in their presence. That means you need current government-issued photo ID, and you need to sign at our counter, not at home. If a document arrives already signed, the notary has to turn it away. Bring it unsigned and the whole thing takes a few minutes.
Six Offices, Walk-In Service
You can see a notary at any of our locations in Exeter, West Reading, Pottstown, Norristown, Audubon, or Levittown. We are open Monday through Friday 9 to 5 and Saturday 9 to 2. No appointment needed.
